Video games, creativity and writing. If anyone asked me to describe myself in three words, those would be them.

I grew up on video games. It is how I learned, how I thrived and how I survived. I didn’t grow up in a very close family. My parents were both military; and because of that, we traveled. A lot. In fact, I attended at least 6 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 2 high schools.

I grew up on Mario, Metroid, Tetris, Contra and eventually made my way to the N64 and the PS1, with so many classics like Super Mario 64 and Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9. I love all things Doom, Halo and Batman. I have explored galaxies in No Man’s Sky, the depths of Hell in Diablo, and fought against thousands of Heartless in Kingdom Hearts. I love gaming!

I grew up in California, Alaska, Germany and Las Vegas, never having lived anywhere in my life more than 4 years. I didn’t make a lot of friends due to moving around so much. At some point, I realized there wasn’t a reason to try, since I would just move again. But I am thankful. Because of that life, I think differently than everyone around me. I don’t have the same perspective. And that perspective allows me to be creative.

In fact, creativity has allowed me to become the man that I am today. I find inspiration in just about everything. I love making costumes, I love sewing, and I love making armor; all of that together has helped me express and explore who I am as a person and to meet some truly incredible people along the way.

As far as writing, I love writing. Creative writing, news articles and short stories are very fun to me. Just another way to express myself. But I scored absolute gold, when I discovered that I could write for the US Army, which I have been doing for nearly 10 years of my total 17+ years of service. During that time, I have been stationed in many amazing places such as Germany, South Korea and the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. I have even spent time in Jordan and Lebanon writing about Special Forces and photographing Presidents of the United States.

But that wasn’t even my true form! Recently, I was asked to combine my love of writing and my love of video games, and to join forces with some truly amazing people in the gaming community. The team over at GameFace is a truly passionate team that cares greatly about the esports community-particularly updating you on the latest news, trends, tips and more. They bring amazing tournaments, top-tier content and highlight to the world what it looks like when we get our GameFace on!
