Dice’s New Hazard Zone mode will be revealed October 14 at 8am PST/11am EST/ 4pm BST.
Hazard Zone, previously described by DICE as “an all-new, high-stakes, squad-based game type for the Battlefield franchise" that is a modern take on the multiplayer experience traditionally offered by DICE but very different from “all-out Warfare’s Conquest or Breakthrough modes.”
Back in August, data miner @Temporyal shared details suggesting that Hazard Zone will play a lot like Battlestate Games' Escape from Tarkov. Players are expected to battle AI enemies while fighting to reach extraction points without losing their loot.
Optional extraction points are a thing; you just have to accomplish certain objectives to make use of them such as acquiring specific loot.
“Expect to collect intel from data drives & crashed satellites in Hazard Zone,” the Battlefield 2042 dataminer wrote. “After a briefing screen and insertion via Little Bird, it’s up to you to search the area. The danger of losing equipment can be countered with a ‘Loadout Insurance’, one of numerous tactical upgrades.”
They then added that “Battlefield Hazard Zone maps seem to feature various points of interest like ammo stations and uplinks. Here you can call for a Ranger (Robot Dog) or HDT Storm (ATV). There are also links to a respawn sequence with states like start, pause, resume & abort. You might encounter AI soldiers like a patrol using a Jaguar EBRC or HDT Storm in #Battlefield Hazard Zone." Continuing, they said, "According to some data, they can get reinforcements and parachute (solo or squads) into the map. AI ‘bosses’ will probably serve as additional objectives & grant rewards."
“You can leave the Hazard Zone by using an extraction zone (landing zones for helicopters which can be claimed & activated). An extraction can also fail if you miss the helicopter."

And if this news wasn’t enough to get you excited, Activision is planning to reveal Call of Duty: Vanguard's Zombies iteration the exact same date and time as the Hazard Zone reveal. Needless to say, tensions are heating up between these two competitors.
